#2 – MENU PLANNING

One of the most exciting parts about your Whole30 is all the new, amazing food you are going to try. A common mistake people make when dieting is eating the same things instead of venturing out which leads to boredom. Changing your life and boredom are not in the same area code! FORTUNATELY, the Whole30 is not a diet! It is a lifestyle. Find new recipes that look interesting to you and try new foods! You are likely going to find new foods you never knew would tasted so good. We are not saying get too far outside your comfort zone, but definitely try new things! It is a good idea to map out your meals a week in advance using some of these new interesting recipes you have found. There are also some great plans already out there that you can find with a quick google search. Just be mindful that whatever you find is Whole30 compliant. Give your meals a flow. When your plan your menu, try to have leftovers show up the next day. Think last nights dinner veggies in tomorrows lunchbox with a new protein. You can chop up your protein from last night and up it in a breakfast scramble or a lunch salad. Checkout the Whole30 Book's Sample 7 Day Menu on page 196.

#3 – MEAL PREPARATION

Prepare, prepare, prepare!  Designate a prep day (Let's say Sunday). This might be your shop day too. On prep day, get ahead by fully cutting and mixing ingredients for the next day's meals. You can stream-line this process by going one ingredient at a time which prevents cleanup from changing over to new ingredients. This process will take a couple of hours but saves you twice that time during your busy week.

#4 – MENTAL PREPARATION

No one ever said changing your life was going to be a walk in the park. It is called the Whole30 "CHALLENGE" for a reason. When those food cravings kick in, you need to have the support and mental strength to be able to push through, stay compliant, and know that YOU ARE WORTH IT! As mentioned above with the Whole30 rules, getting involved with the Whole30 community for support is an awesome way to stay focused and empowered! You can do this!

#5 – EMERGENCY PLANNING TO STAY COMPLAINT

This is SUPER IMPORTANT! We all know that life happens. Whether it is a family emergency or last minute trip for work, life can throw a wrench in your plans. Always have some emergency Whole30 compliant food such as fruits, nuts, and other sources of protein and nutrients to keep you on target. Remember, don't let anything get in the way of CHANGING YOUR LIFE!
